Green protective pipes

Hello - Can the green piping be replaced with something less obvious - ie black, brown and perhaps something with a smaller diameter? Thanks.

Hi RJV,

Thanks for posting and welcome to the community!

Can I ask where the pipes are placed in terms of the network?

Thanks,

Kain

The protective pipes are along side our driveway

Thank you for your response @RJV.

Are you able to provide an image of this so we can further understand and help?

Thanks,

No, what don't you understand - I just want to replace the Virgin green piping which protects the cable????

Thank you for letting me know @RJV.

For non-essential work, we would charge a call-out fee of £25 to assess the work to be done. We would also charge you for the work to be done in changing the piping. Are you happy to proceed in this way? We would also ask for a picture of the piping so we can pass this on to the relevant team for clarity in communication.

Thanks,

Photos attached, the driveway is about 20 meters long - we are not looking to have the cable underground, we just want to tidy it up. Is it possible to get an rough estimate?

The default/standardised colours for telecoms/CATV/comm's cable conduit are grey or green (VM's default is green).

Whether or not you could actually get VM to turn up with a different colour other than their default and change it would be totally dependent on the randomness of VM's installation processes.

You'd probably get a better outcome by carefully excavating a shallow trench and burying it yourself (as well as saving £25 and knowing you had done a proper job of it!)

Thanks for your help.
