I have received the following text message this morning. My elderly mother in law is called Maureen and Virgin do have my number as an emergency way to contact her as she is deemed vulnerable. However I am wondering if this is genuine or not and do not want to worry her and get her to contact Virgin unnecessarily. Has anyone else received similar before I speak to her as she gets very upset quite easily and I don't want to cause distress but equally I need to keep her phone line account active.
Hi MAUREEN. As you missed a payment, your Virgin Media services will be suspended soon. To pay, call 0800 052 2170 or head to virginmedia.com/payments

Hello rnmh1964.
Thank you for your post.
This number does belong to us and will be the payments team.
If you call it back you will be asked for the number you are calling from and then placed in a queue to discuss the payment.
Can you please let us know how you get on.
