I am reminded that my VM package has 2 promotional discounts. Each has an expiry date. One is described as  "œ10"". 

What is it? Internet search reveals nothing but a linguistic explanation for the "œ" symbol.

Whilst the character œ may look like a Latin small ligature OE it is in fact a string termination character and is not supposed to be displayed but might be if using Windows. It has no meaning of significance and is something Virgin Media should look to correct along with:

  • other unexpected character like Â
  • missing £ sign
  • odd capitalisation of words

For example as shown below where œ occurs immediately after Â but is not displayed for me under Your current bill > Your package > Promotions & discounts:
