Default on Credit File

Hello

so my boyfriend has a default on his credit score because his mom took out an account in his name and the payments weren’t kept up-to-date and it’s unfair on him. She has now started to pay back the debt but it’s still on his account. Would he be able to transfer that default onto his moms account as it’s her fault or does it have to stay on his.

thanks

No, that's not possible. Regardless of payment method, the account holder is responsible for keeping up regular payments and if not - it's the account holder's credit file that will (rightly) hold a record of those missed payments.

Hi @elouise1,

Welcome to our Community Forums and thanks for posting.

Unfortunately as @japitts has correctly advised, it is not possible to transfer the default since it is the responsibility of the account holder to ensure the account is kept up to date.

Kind Regards
