Clarification on leaving

Hi, I spoke to the cancellations team on the phone today but I didn't get a clear answer from them.

If i was to cancel all of my services (out of contract) I know that I have to give 30 days notice. But what the agent said on the phone was that if i cancelled today, my services would be cut off straight away and i would have to pay another months bill of  £130 without being able to use any of those services for the remaining billing period. This seems very wrong, surely I should be able to give 30 days notice and have my services cut of on that last day.
