Why cant I downgrade my package online? I want to remove my home phone from my package as I'm paying £24 a month for something we never use. Spent 10 minutes on the phone to someone, I could not understand, asking 20 questions and eventually just gave up and I cut the call. I look online and see I can upgrade my account by hundreds of ££££ a month if I want but cant remove anything. Since moving to the internet based phone system, on the odd occasions I've tried using, it it cuts out. Well that's another issue as I have a superhub 3 and every time I had tried to resolve this issue was told "theres a problem in your area". No there's not, its the SH3 that's the issue.
Why is everything so difficult with Virgin media?

VM operate a multi-bundle discount system, where adding additional services reduces the per-unit cost. Telephony, epecially landlines, are heavily loaded, and you will often find that a landline-inclusive package is cheaper than landline-exclusive because of the generous discounts it attracts.
If you want to pursue a landline-exclusive package and find out whether it's cheaper or not - 150 from your VM phone or 0345 4541111 from any other phone. Package renegotiations have never been done online.

Both of the above reasons are why you cannot downgrade online. Removing a service means renegotiating the price of the remaining services.
