Changing account holder

I used to live with a room mate who had the Virgin Media contract in his name and he was the one paying for it. He moved out couple of days ago and I would like to transfer it over to me. Is it possible to just transfer the existing contract over to me or will he need to cancel it and then I need to contact virgin and let them know I would like to sign up for a service? I tried to register for a my virgin account but I need an account number which I don't have. Thanks

Thanks for your post and welcome back to the community.

So just to clarify on this, if the account is in their name and you'd still like to have the service we'd need the current account to be cancelled with a new one setup by our sales team.
