I am in Twickenham (in area 03) and I've lost count of the number of times in the past few months that there has been a local fault with my landline not working (no dialling tone). Often it is a few hours at a time before it is fixed.
I know it's a network fault (rather than a fault with my own phone) because the faults are often listed (eventually) on the status service list for my area. What is the ongoing problem in this area - and when will it be permanently fixed?
It's not working again today - the third day running (though it always comes back on after a few hours). When it goes off I know immediately - it always gives a loud click. There's clealy some intermittent fault on the on the line
My phone service finally came back late last night after being off for most of the day. I booked an engineer for today but Virgin cancelled the appointment without telling me . When I rang they said they cancelled it because it was yet another "outage". So still no answer to my original question - why is it happening more and more frequently? Including for THE LAST 3 DAYS RUNNING. Alex's private messages did nothing to answer the question (instead trying to tell me it WASN'T due to outages).
