It's now getting on for 48 hrs since I noticed the fault. status check says no problems in my area. I've gone through the various checks advised on the help pages. My corded phone is connected to the first socket where the phoneline enters the property with no other phone connected elsewhere.
This is a reoccurrence of the same fault I had a few weeks ago which was eventually fixed remotely and no engineer called at the property.

I am sorry to hear you've been having some issues with your landline.
I've taken a look at our systems and can confirm this is due to an area outage.
We are investigating and working to resolve as quickly as possible. The estimated time of fix was down as 31/05 at 4pm but looks like the fault is still open.
