Unfair £35 activation fee

Along with a lot of others, I recently received a letter stating that our area was being moved to the fibre/network phone system.

I called CS as requested and was told I didn't need to do anything until I pointed out that I had an old super hub 2 that was not compatible. I was sent a SH3 for self install which all went well. The phone changeover day came and went and agian all works as expected.

Now here's the rub. I have just noticed on my last bill that I have been charged an activation fee! Surely the fact that I needed updated equipment for a change you are making should not cost me anything.

I already begrudge paying a landline rental fee for something we never use, but I know that's another whole can of worms.

A £35 credit on my account would be a nice gesture.

Hello @donhay,

Welcome back to the community page, thank you for posting on here.

I am sorry to see that you have been charged for this.

I agree that this does seem unfair, I will send you a private message so I can help you further.

Please look out for a plum envelope at the top right of your screen.

Many thanks,
