Turn off landline voicemail temporarily

Having trouble logging on to online bank.  Need to turn off voicemail to get it to work.

I am so sorry to hear you are facing this issue with your online banking, this does seem very odd! 

 

Can I ask what happens when you try to log on with Voicemail still enabled? 

 

Are you able to access this via another device?

The bank's online login security is supposed to work like this:

  1. Enter userid and password online

  2. Bank displays 4-digit code on screen

  3. Bank calls telephone number (landline) associated with my account

  4. Recorded message instructs me to key in the 4-digit code on my phone

  5. Bank logs me in to my online account

BUT ... the bank's telephone calls to my landline are going immediately to voicemail, no matter how quickly I answer the phone.

I reported the problem to the bank and they said the solution is to disable voicemail, but I can't find a way to do this on my Virgin Media landline.

I suggested changing the telephone number on my account from landline to mobile, but the bank's telephone support person could not do this.  I have to log in my account to do it.
