I'm getting phone calls on my landline purporting to be from Virgin Media, telling me they have identified suspect activity on my internet and asking me to connect my device so they can sort it out. I asked how I could verify they were from Virgin Media but they said this was not possible. I became suspicious and hung up. Can anyone clarify if these are scam calls or not?
Thanks
Karen

100% scam calls. VM do not make unsolicited tech support calls in the is way.
Have a look through this forum and 'Security Matters' and you will find people report these regularly.
Do not follow any of their instructions to 'run tests' and do not download any software to allow them remote access to your devices. Best approach is to hang up immediately without talking to them.
