Urgent help needed.
Moved to Virgin from SKY on 26/2/19
My order of 09/02 clearly stated I want to keep my 20 year old number ported. All carers doctors have this number.
However on 08/03 week I realized they gave me a new number cause no one could reach me.
I call them three times and they said they would follow up.
Today 15/03 am told no port request has been done so far.
Sky informs my number stopped on 26/02 (17 days ago) and don't have my number anymore.
Will VM be able to get my number. I've called BT and SKY .. need urgent help
As long as you did not make a cancellation request to Sky there should be no problem with the port. The provider taking the number must deal with the cancellation.
It is normal to be issued with a temporary number for a few days as VM have their own telephone exchanges and it can take a while for calls to be routed through from the BT infrastructure.
As a Very Insightful Person, I'm here to share my knowledge. I don't work for Virgin Media.

Virgin Media must really take more care and train staff regarding number porting.
There are lots of people like me who have had their number for a very long time.
Spoken to customer service four-five time in different Asian locations.
They are only a message forwarding service.
I have asked for telephone call recordings - will take 40 days they day.
Thanks for your replies
We are sorry to hear this Barry,
Do you have a reference number for this case? It is correct it can take up to 40 days for this request to be completed, if not we will be able to look further into this for you.
