Since moving home and taking virgin media with us , the home phone is diverted to a mobile but is very slow to connect call

No , still slow 30 seconds plus , think it’s because not a dedicated phone line ...

Is the mobile phone you are diverting to also Virgin?
Have you tried putting the sim from the mobile into another phone?
