Phone Line Dead

Hi

I have recently moved from Sky to VM. I asked for my number to get transferred during the order.

My BT phone line went dead about 2 days ago and I then plugged my phone into my VM socket and the phone line is still dead as I was expecting it to be live soon after my BT line went dead .

Can someone please advise.

Hi there @GMun

 

Welcome to our forums and thanks for your first post to our Community; so sorry that you've had some issues with your landline since joining us. 

 

When you requested your number to be ported - was your number still active with your old provider (when we advise active, can you confirm that you had not booked a disconnection with your old provider? If a disconnection had been booked with your new provider, we will not be able to bring the number over)

Let me know and we'll go from there.

Hi Katie

My phone line was still active and I never advised my old provider to disconnect it, as I am still paying them just now for all my services as wanted to make sure my number got transferred.

As you mentioned in your first post that your BT line went dead. Can you please confirm that that number is still active?

My SKY (BT) line says check line as well.

I presumed that this was VM porting over my number.

My SKY services end on the 22nd of November.

Hi

I have spoken to sky and they advised that my line is working and active.

I have plugged 2 known working phones in my SKY (BT) socket and its says check line.

I have plugged both phones into my VM line and it has no dial tone it doesn't have an error saying check line. 

I can call my landline number and it connects but my house phone doesn't ring.

Can someone please help I have been back and forth with VM and Sky.

I am unsure if my number has been ported over to VM and if it has I think I have a fault with my line.
