Landline - unable to receive calls

Virgin install took place on Saturday. Have kept the old number.  Engineer said that receiving calls could take 24 hrs to enable.  Now 48 hours later my mother is still unable to receive calls. Callers get the message "you have dialled an incorrect number".  This means that no one is able to ring her.  She is elderly and relies heavily on the phone. How long does it take to port the number???

Thanks for your message. Sorry to hear about the line Telephone issue.

Once you've set up and activated your services, We begin the process of switching over your number, which could take up to 10 days.  

I can take a  look at the account to see what the issue is 

I will need to send you a private message to pass security. 
If you can check the purple envelope top right of your screen that would be great.
