Landline failure

Tuning in

Our landline has a fault, we cannot receive calls and there's a permanent crackling noise. The telephone rings once then goes off. I called technical support who said the line was showing errors and it was likely an engineer was already looking at it. Unfortunately that doesn't seem to have happened , there's no outages showing for the area but our landline is still off? Do technical support lose money if they send out an engineer??????

Hi 12colmore,

Thanks for posting on our community forums. Really sorry to hear you're having issues with your landline. From the issues you have described we will need to get an engineer booked to come and take a look at this issue for you.

Before I send you a private message can we ask if you have tried the following:

  • Removed all extension phones and juts tried the main phone in the master socket?
  • That you remove all other equipment connected to your phone socket, for example, fax machines, modems or routers, etc.
  • Please can you make sure the phone is sitting in its cradle correctly, and ensure that you have your phone plugged in to the VM socket.

Please can you try the above and come back to us, if this has altered anything.

Kind regards Jodi.

Don’t let the  service dept fob you off . We have had this problem for well  over 12 months. It’s a long story but needless to say it has still not been rectified
