Landline Phone to Router

On our wavelength

I am having trouble with the landline and was wondering when this is going to be changed over to the router. Reading the forum i should have received a letter but have not as yet.

Hi John

The landline is very noisy and when we had an Engineer out to fit a new TV box he suggested that we have the phone connected to the router but we have heard nothing from Virgin about this.

I can provide my account number if that would help you.

I am going to run some diagnostics. Does the noise happen all the time during calls or before dialing a number?

Line is noisy all the time.

I have been told that the router option is not available in my area (TN23 7UR).

Can you please confirm this?

I have confirmed above the conversion isn't yet possible. 

 

What kind of noise is it please;

 

  • Broken Tone Beeping 
  • Crackling & General noise on the line 
  • Other voices & conversations

Thanks for confirming. 

 

Can you confirm - Are you plugged into the master socket or an extension, how many pieces of equipment are plugged into the phone, less or more than 3? 

 

Also has an alternative handset been tried?

We are plugged direct to the master socket with no extension points.

I will try another handset to see if the existing handset is causing the issue.
