Landline Not Working

My home phone has no dialling tone, I cannot make calls, and when I try to phone my home from a mobile I get no ringing tone either. Can someone please help me with this.

I have checked all connections, it isn't connected to the hub, it never has been, my broadband and tv are unaffected and working ok.

Sorry to hear you are having an issue with landline. 
I'd like to take a look into this for you and see what the issue is. 
If you don't mind, I will need to send you a private message to pass security. 
If you can check the purple envelope top right of your screen that would be great.
