My landline is not working this afternoon even though earlier in the day I was able to make and receive calls. The network status check says that there are no problems in the area however I do not own a mobile phone in order to contact Virgin to get an engineer out to fix the problem. I have tried removing the phone connection, turning it off and on at the mains and plugging it in at the test socket but nothing works. I have had had no issues with my broadband so it is only the phone line that needs fixing. How do I contact Virgin without a mobile? Is there an email address or a webchat facility I can use?

I am sorry to hear of the issue with the phone line.
I have taken a look at things from our side and there is an outage in your area.
The estimated fix time is today at 16.35pm.
