My land line stopped working a couple of days ago. I have raised a fault with the help team and they say there is a problem in my area and it will be fixed soon. I check “service status” and it is showing as “no fault showing”. Is there a more accurate way to get an update without having to go through the rigmarole of ringing the help desk and getting stuck in a que ?

I do apologise for the inconvenience, after a quick check on my side I can't see any apparent outage flagged.
Do you receive no dial tone whatsoever when picking up the handset?

When I plug my phone into the hub I get no dial tone at all and a message on my phone that says “;Line cord error” . I have a second (copper) land line and the same phone works fine when pugged into that. When I spoke to customer services last night they informed me there was a known fault in my area which would be fixed in the next 24 hours.
