I can make calls but not receive them

On our wavelength

I have a problem with my home phone. I can make calls but not receive them.

I contacted Virgin yesterday and I was promised a call on my mobile but have not received one.

Can you please help?

What happens when you dial your number 

Have you tried another phone in the socket?

Do you have any call diverts set up on the landline 

We may need to arrange for a Service Technician to attend, which I can do from here

Thank you for your quick reply.

when you dial the number initially there is a slight rushing noise and then a beeping and then it cuts off.

I have tried another phone in the socket and it is just the same.

No call divert on phone.

It was working fine on Sunday. I mentioned when I called Virgin yesterday that on Sunday night my TV and router went off 3 times but when I checked it was a known issue. My phone is not connected to this equipment it is plugged into a phone socket.

it would help if you could arrange fir a service technician to attend. I can make call out fine.

Good morning Gareth_L,

Just a quick message to let you know that my home phone is working again.

I had a text to say they were investigating a network problem affecting my services and had put my service visit on hold.

This morning I had another message advising they had fixed the network issue affecting my services.

As they put the service visit on hold, would they have cancelled this as my services are working again?

That's great news

Sometimes it take a few people in the area to call and we can then investigate as local fault 

The main thing is its fixed 

And the appointment has now been cancelled 

So I guess its time to say
