Hi 

I'm new to Virgin media, I am on talk weekends and I rang a mobile phone yesterday(Sunday) on my house phone and I am going to be charged £9.23 for 55 minutes. I believed that this call was free as it was at the weekend. Why?

Was it definitely a Virgin mobile number that you called? It would need to be in order to be included in the basic Talk Weekends package.

No it was not a virgin mobile, so it looks like I won't be using my house phone to call out and will just be using it for incoming calls. I can't believe that talk weekends is not for other mobiles and just for virgin. I am not a happy chappy over this.

Hello there, sorry to hear that, You do get free calls to Virgin Mobiles though, as long as you don't go over 60 minutes ^GT

I think I have made a costly blunder in going to Virgin media, as I was on Talktalk for 20 years and have been spoilt by getting free weekend calls. How do I upgrade so that I can get free calls to a mobile phone?

Hi 

I have just upgraded my package to "talk more weekends" which should allow me to call any UK mobiles. I forgot to ask when this upgrade starts, is it immediate or does it start from my next monthly payment?

It will start in the next 24 hours, Just make sure if you are on the call for longer than the hours hang up after 55 minutes and redial ^GT
