Crackling noise on landline

We have a horrible crackling noise on our landline.  When we try to call someone from it all we hear is this crackling noise and when someone rings the landline again all we hear is crackling when we pick it up.

Can you confirm if this hub is connected to the hub or a phone socket?

Can you confirm if you have been able to try another handset on the line? If not, can you please try another one?

Sorry i should have said its connected to a phone socket and yes we tried another phone in it and no joy i'm afraid.

Thank you for that information. What we will need to do at this point is get an engineer out to investigate this. 

I have attempted to locate your account from our side but have been unable too. So I will private message you now so we can get this sorted.
