so been witn virgin for years on and off think its almost time for another off the latency is killing me literally all i want to do is come home after a 12 hour shift and save the world evry now and then on cod but over the last month or so the latency and lag is beyond belief a tech came out about a month ago gave me the normal heartfelt response of its got to be the servers your on mate as the broadbands working perfect but i will chuck you a new craphub 4 that should help as i can not see any issues (so why give me a new hub) but tonight i couldnt save a penny never mind the world (forgive me cods a break from the humdrum of the real world noise) aint sure if this link will display (i play cod i dont write code)but all i do know is the tech from virgin wouldnt tell porkies honest its not over utilization of the line no its the bad servers from ps5 and cod will this bullshizzle ever end from virgin any words of wisdom a small branch of hope to hold on to or pointed in the direction of a actual service provider that can handle 1 ps5 online hard wired for a hour or two a night😂

Hi @2021technology. Thank you for getting in touch.

Sorry to hear you are also having issues with latency and connection. I have had a look at your account and your speed looks good, but i can see some disconnections in the last month. The most recent of these being on Saturday 25th December. I can also see a bit of a spike in your packet loss in the last few days.

Are you still experiencing issues since posting? Let us know so we can offer you further support.

All the best,

Molly

Hi Molly all i will say is look at the BQM as by the wording of what you have put your trying to place blame on the ps5 and warzone the BQM clearly shows massive latency issues certainly not the 13ms you refer to as for your speed qoute that may have been correct when you ping your own prioritised server  again back to your script and i will read from mine but mine is backed up with a BQM or two maybe 3 that blow your 13ms latency out of the water averages well over the 13ms you stated and maxs of 160ms so please tell me where you pulled the 13ms from as its clearly not my average and no where near my max latency please refer to below BQM and please drop the script before you try to enlighten me again (dont mean to come across rude but really have had enough of virgin media reading stories instead of fixing the issue) and check all the BQM from previous posts as there clearly is an issue as this happens on waezone and multiplayer COD also fifa pick any one of the last 3 releases i could and maybe should list more games but that is not going to fix the issue niether is being a virgin customer and the FACT your TECH said the line is over utilized proves the fact your reading from a script these may not be the worst BQM they clearly show average latency closer to 40 than 13ms

Hi there nothappwithu,

Sorry to see you're still having issues and welcome back to the community.

With regards to latency, it will take it for average every hour for 24 hours. From looking at the BQM I can appreciate that during peak times the average latency has increased a lot however on average for the day the latency is below 20.

From taking a look into the account I can't see any issues with the router that would be causing the issue bar a capacity issue on the 5ghz, is your system running on Channel Optimisation?

I can see also the hub has a uptime of 10+ days, would you be able to perform a reboot for me and see how you're getting on after?

Thanks,

Kain

Thanks for the reply means very little to be brutally honest I work for a living so the fact of the internet being ok in the days is a totally ridiculous response so I need to either change my job so I can game in the day or just suffer with this totally unacceptable service virgin is providing and your quote is

(I can appreciate that during peak times the average latency has increased a lot however on average for the day the latency is below 20) which again to be brutally honest shows a complete lack of care or intelligence I won’t make any assumptions I will leave that to the people who view this post please get a grip of reality or adult life as I work 9 to 5 (lucky I know) others in my home 6 until 6 therefore if the connection is ok ish before 5pm but goes all Pete tong after how is that of use to me Please with your infinite wisdom enlighten me thanks 😂😂

Hi,

Just to let you know, I have also been suffering the same problem for a couple of months now. Been trying me crazy, trying multiple fixes. I can't find the issue. I set up a BQM recently and appear to have a similar ping issue?

I don't want to sabotage this thread as I just set up my own post (it doesn't appear to have been posted yet).

I played last night and it was terrible. It was also COD Warzone, weirdly I don't think it appears to be any other games however obviously I can't test multiple games on the same day. To contradict this, at a friends house COD Warzone runs so much smoother.

hi thanks for stopping by there is defo a issue on your line as well but virgin will just try to blame the servers you get on when online gaming although clearly the BQM shows whats happening as its showing the latency spikes i hope you get a better response and fix than i have the speed stays solid but the latency and ping (maybe one and the same im no tech) on 200mg i should be able to walk round a map withput bouncing backwards and forwards or whilst playing fifa be running with the ball two seconds later its in the back of my net its poor service by VM no one on here really follows anything up they will pop in with a message that its not down to them although there last tech that visted my property admitted it was

hard wired PS5

Thanks for replying. Yes I am Molly. Still bad latency spiking in the evening. Modem mode. Cat7 cable. Restarted router. 2 engineer visits. Replaced hub.

Hi 2021technology, when taking a closer look into this using your forum info I can see that the downstream power levels are out of spec and will require the attention of an engineer - please get back to me via PM (the purple envelope icon) and we'll be able to get that arranged for you.

nah they're fine thanks. last engineer 'fixed' them they were +0.5 higher than they should have been. Just fix the overutilisation and stop wasting everyone's time cheers
