latency increases while gaming, then drops after - reboot solves for 1-2 days - Puma 6?

per title, rebooting the hub solves the issue for a short while, then it returns.

i run the hub in modem mode because the router component does not cover all of the features i need and is sub-par.

i use a pfsense router which i have just replaced the networking hardware on - has had no effect. have also previously tried using a different router, and the hub as itself - same issues. we recently renewed the contract too, if this issue is not fixed i may begin looking into ways to cancel the contract on the grounds of failure to deliver a (quite expensive) service since it is affecting a few games severely enough to leave them almost completely unplayable (repeated disconnects) and others unenjoyable (latency spikes above 500ms).

bandwidth seems fine, and letency is usually ok - quality graph here:

i conducted a puma 6 test and this was the result:puma 6 test.png

Looks like over-utilization to me on the BQM at the evening the latency is disgusting.

Re: latency increases while gaming, then drops after - reboot solves for 1-2 days - Puma 6?

I do have prior experience of over utilisation before, and it was accompanied by massive speed drops, which I am currently not experiencing.

What you cannot see yet, is the annotated bqm which shows the time I started and stopped playing a game (and the accompanying rise and fall in ping times), and the puma 6 test result which shows some bad results.

Currently downloading from the Microsoft store at 230Mbps and did a simultaneous speed test and got 300Mbps so speed is not an issue.

Re: latency increases while gaming, then drops after - reboot solves for 1-2 days - Puma 6?

at approximately 9pm tonight (23/02/2021) the BQM showed massive spikes, and i ran a speedtest, it was down under 100Mbps.

this is well below the guaranteed minimum set out in our contract.
