I will say sorry for starters as I am not very tecked up and dont know all the proper jargon.
I have been with Virgin media for many years now ever since they took over NTL (I think thats right)
but their is something not right and have tried everything to sort this problem out for many years, but it wont go away.
I have the TV, Phone and VIVID 200 Optical Fibre (which I was told was the gamers option), am using a Super Hub 2ac from which I game on PC, PS4 pro, Xbox One and Nvidia Shield but on all devices I am sort of lagging and what I am seeing on my screen is different to whats happening at the time, gaming feels stiff and unresponsive on all devices.
I seem to be getting good pings and decent upload, download speeds but end up getting kicked from online games, regular contacting servers, and always getting a stiff unresponsive expreience on all PC and consoles. When I see a replay of games I am playing like a killcam or goal replay and am not in the same position as I am seeing on my TV. I seem to be behind everyone else.
When playing in a group I regularly get kicked and told I have poor internet, but if I have poor internet why am I getting picked to host by the servers. My speeds are regularly round about 185mb down and 2.1mb up on both consoles and 190mb down and 5mb up on PC. I can game for say an hour quit the game and do a speed check my speeds dramatically go down to 20mb down 0.5mb up, is this right?
I regularly can only have one thing connected to my hub as anything else, mobile phone, or PC and console my broadband just freezes, everything starts to go very slowly, it seems week and cannot cope with having anything else connected. Say if I do a speed check say on PS4 and PC it takes an age to find what nat type I am, Xbox One just says nat type restricted or unavailable.
Really dont know why I have been paying for this rubbish service, am I getting throttled? is it my Super Hub? I am at a loss as to what to do.
One last thing, If I complain by phoning up Virgin Media I always get we cannot find any problems, but for 2 days I will get perfect non lag gaming, then it will go back to normal. This has happened alot of times and I mean alot. So it not just a coinsidence.
Your upload speed doesn't sound very good. It should be 20Mb on the 200 Gamer option. Are you using Wired or WiFi?
Posting your connection stats may help. Go to http://192.168.0.1 (or http://192.168.100.1 if using Modem Mode). Don't log in, just click Check Router Status, as shown below. Then copy/paste the Downstream, Upstream and Network log pages.
