Xbox Series X unplayable online, too much lag.

Xbox say I need 2 be on ipv6 setting, it showing I'm on ipv4 setting.

Alas VM don't provide IPv6 at all so that's a non starter.

All Xbox consoles support and work normally with IPv4. For example, I've used IPv4 with Xbox Live all the way back to the original Xbox, then 360, One, One X, and now Series X. Your issue is somewhere else in either your broadband service or home network setup.

Absolutely correct, however having IPv6 makes things simpler by way of no port forwarding etc. But yes, IPv4 is fine.
