Wired Ethernet cutting out after 10mins of gaming

Hi, my wired ethernet cuts out after about 10mins of gaming and comes back after about 5-10 seconds. After the initial cut out it's fine for the rest of the session. It's started about 2 weeks ago and has been consistently happening every day.

I'm on the M500 package if that's relevant.

Thanks,

speed should not matter - you can set up a bqm but i doubt if that will show the drop as its only for a few seconds - i cannot see how its relevant but does the internet drop if you are browsing for 10 minutes or so

what do the lights on the hub do when it drops

am not a gamer so am in the dark on that but it sounds like something in the game - is it just one game or more

So the internet doesn't drop during browsing only while gaming. I can't really tell what happens on the hub since it comes back after 5ish seconds and happens on multiple games, not just one.

I could try the bqm to see if anything happens. I'll give that a go

post the levels from the hub

log into hub3 - 192.168.0.1 [or 192.168.100.1 if in modem mode] - DON'T SIGN IN, click - click router status [centre of screen] - and post the downstream and upstream figures - to see those press on the grey buttons/boxes labelled - upstream - downstream

if its an earlier hub button is top right

nothing wrong there - what does the uptime of the hub show - not sure where it is - technical i think - its there somewhere

a 5 sec drop is not the hub dropping the connection to VM imo - its too quick - it takes far longer than that for the hub to reboot

worth trying a gaming session in modem mode - only the one device will connect but that takes the router side out of the equation - if it does not drop then you should be pushing VM to change the hub to test further

Not sure where you check the uptime (couldn't find it)

I'm going to try the modem mode to see if anything happens.
