Virgin 500mb high ping since getting Google home.

Got home tonight with my new ring door bell and Google smart home monitor kit for the living room. Ever since ive gone online since setting the two devices up my ping has gone from a steady 25 on fortnite and 39 on cod vanguard to around 70 on both with plenty of red unsteady lines on fortnite to show the connection is no longer smooth. Anybody got any solutions? Everything seemed fine before I left the house to get the new smart home Stuff.

I've since turned both of these new devices off and ping remains very high on Ps5.

You need to post your Power levels, Pre and PostRS errors and Network log.  Also consider setting up a BQM for monitoring www.thinkbroadband.com/ping

Once done we can comment.

In the meantime, how did you connect the Google kit?   Is it wired or wireless ?

You could also try a 60 second factory pinhole reset as below;
Remove any ethernet cables from the Hub and hold the pinhole reset switch for 60 seconds. Do NOT reboot the Hub, just let it do it's thing. Note you will need the passwords from the bottom of the Hub afterwards, so make sure they are legible.

How do I go about getting the power levels please?

The Google home kit is all on wireless while the ps5s are on ethernet.

All stats on on the Hub 192.168.0.1  Router status link has all the tabs for the above information.

I've logged into my router on my phone. Where do I go from there? Can you talk me through it in more detail. Is it under wireless? Etc

Pull up the log in page for the hub.  But don't log in, just click on the link "Check router status"  That'll bring up a window with five tabs.  Open the Downstream tab.  Select all the text (Ctrl-A if using a keyboard), copy it (Ctrl-C), then paste it (Ctrl-V) into a reply here as text not screenshots.  Post that, do the same for the Upstream and Network log.  You'll get an error message when you post the Network log, just click on "post" a second time.

Then we can check for any obvious problems with power, noise or error counts.

Hi NickWba20

Thanks for posting. Sorry to hear any broadband issues. I've checked here today and no issues are showing. All levels are showing in spec and there are no issues with congestion or SNR (signal to noise ratio).

Can you post your Hub status and logs? How to do this;
• Please go to http://192.168.0.1 (or http://192.168.100.1 - if in modem mode),
• Don't log in, click on 'router status'
• Copy/paste the data from each of the tabs as text into a 'REPLY' as opposed to 'QUICK REPLY'. Please do not include your MAC address.
Also, set up a Broadband Quality Monitor. This will monitor the state of your connection and record any network dropouts etc
Give it a while to gather data and then click 'Share Live graph' and paste the 'Direct Link' into the forum
