Settings change on their own

I Have been changing the WiFi from 5ghz to 2.4ghz in advanced settings as it gives me terrible ping when on 5ghz however every now and then my hub 3.0 decides to change back to having both 2.4ghz and 5ghz active and my ping plummets when it does. Can someone tell me how to stop this happening or some way to get better ping, thanks.

You can't stop it VM do what is best in router mode.

For more control use hub in modem mode get your own router with 1Gb ports

Yes I can't recommend this enough. Virgin in Modem Mode is really great. 🙂

This is the second Hub 3 reported this week that re-enables the 5Ghz WiFi within in a few hours.

As a work around adjust the Hub 3's WiFi settings giving the 5Ghz a different SSID e.g VMxxxxxxxx_5   ( for ease you can use same password for both )

Once the 2.4 & 5 Ghz SSIDs are split you can choose if the device is going the have the connection details for one or both frequencies.

I think the changes are a side effect of the VM push for "Intelligent Wifi" and the pods.  Splitting the SSID is a good idea, but will not work with the Pods.

Best ultimate solution is modem mode and your own networking kit.
