Re: Ping, packet loss and Latency all over the place. Can we get some info please!

I think we need to all come to the conclusion that nothing is going to be done other than fluff on the forums, no point in upgrading the infrastructure because should fix itself once the network goes back to normal. Not really acceptable but that's the reality

I'm also in 03 and have seen very similar. Discord, which shows latency and packet loss was all over the place last week. However that has cleared up a bit, and I think some Virgin engineers were in the area working a couple of days ago.

Have you seen an increase in modem disconnects/reboots - because this is the new problem.I was playing Destiny 2 last night and it was mostly fine, but later on there were two resets in a row.

I appreciate that this time isn't ideal, but it would be good to know if this is my modem croaking, and if I should push for a new one, or if this is simply just overloaded networks.

Cloudchaser, I'm just the other side of the park to you so it probably means we're running through the same pipes.

Add to this the fact it died down a bit over the long weekend proves its overloaded.

I reckon it's 5Gs fault.

It's basically destroying the planet so why not.

Jokes aside, that's it guys. Makes no sense for virgin to spend money upgrading capacities for a situation that will end at some point. (If it doesn't, internet is the least of our worries!)

All we can do is walk around our neighbourhoods threatening people we see watching Netflix.

Gaming aside it's putting me at serious risk of being furloughed as the internet is not stable enough for me to be able to do what i need to do from home.

Yeah I've banged on about it for weeks now.

I've had to switch to 5G to work remotely. So I'll be seeking a refund when all this is over. It's also cost me £160 for a router.

Very unlikely they'll upgrade capacity during the pandemic.

Re: Ping, packet loss and Latency all over the place. Can we get some info please!

I'm in the BR2 area and I've had constant spikes up to 1000ms delay since January. Over the last few days its gotten even worse, with up to 5000ms+ lag spikes making any online gaming unplayable??

On an ethernet connection and had no issues for 2 years previous to January. Only seems to improve to playable levels after 1/2am

Thank you for letting us know.

Definitively I won't renew my contract. Unfortunately, I still have 6 months.
I hope in 6 months we'll have HyperOptic around.
