PS4 NAT type fail and drops in connection

Dmg91
Tuning in

Hello, I recently called vm to get an update on a package... before then everything has run great since I bought the service about 9 months ago.

i have 100 vivid- standard connection speeds tested on iPhone, ipad and PS4 are usually between- download 95-106 mbps upload 3-6 mbps with average ping of 15.

Now I could be in a game or loading a website and it fails. Testing again at download 50mbps upload less than 1 mbps and ping 22.

its not a constant low, but it’s a wobbly connection. Enough to stop me doing my thing. I’ve done all necessary tests and connections and resets.

HELP PLEASE

If the PS4 is connected wirelessly this thread may help: https://community.virginmedia.com/t5/Gaming-Support/FIX-FOR-PS4-LAG-SPIKES-WORKING-FOR-MANY/m-p/3798...

Also, make sure you disable channel optimisation on that page too, as that will cause regular WiFi dropouts.

Do you have any disconnections on a wired connection?

Shouldn’t have to change any settings as it’s been great since day one.

i have a wired PS4 and connection has hit an all time low at 6mbps dl speed 100kbps ul. Both connections are fluctuating. Called vm and the connection was only better for the rest of the evening. So I’ll need to call again tonight.

Welcome to the forums, I am sorry to see you have been having trouble with your PlayStation.

I have taken a look and things seem to be ok from this side. It may help to take a look here:

Make sure you have uPNP enabled on the SH. This will help with NAT.

Running on 1Gbps VM service with SH4 in Modem Mode, with a ASUS GT-AX6000 router. With this setup I get Fantastic WIRED and WIRELESS Signals in my home. I dont work for VM. But I work in IT, and I know my tech.
My advice is at your own risk. If you are happy with my answers please press Kudo ?

Told just to keep an eye on my connection, like I don’t do that already. It’s obviously a problem with vm. Personally I think it’s because my contract is over soon. This has happened before, when I’ve been close to the end of a contract with vm.
