POOR connection speeds suddenly - Dodgy box or not?
I'm sure there's plenty of poor connection threads but this one is baffling for me.
For years since I have had a ps4, I was always able to stream movies, HD - Netflix, nowtv etc, without fail, no buffering. i'm currently on 100mbps internet with virgin. We recently had an issue with our hub, and although our internet kept disconnecting day after day, the speeds were fine, especially on my ps4.
An engineer came last week to 'fix' our hub, he replaced one of the wires..
The connection now remains stable, however, the wireless signal, especially on my ps4 has just deteriorated. I can barely buffer a movie now. i checked and the download speeds when tested on the ps4 wireless are 2-3mbps!!!!!
This is a seriously annoying situation, I went from perfect streams to constant buffering. Every time an engineer has come to my house they seem to change something that causes an issue.
Last time I had ps4 lags - I changed the channels/disabled optimization and tbh it worked.
Now, nothing. This is so annoying, i wonder if there is any fix - changing DNS/MTU doesn't work. Just to show it isn't a PS4 Issue- I connected to my android phone and the download speeds were 24-30mbps...so it's not the ps4!
An engineer is coming to my house on wednesday, but these guys seem to think they are all knowing and seem to scoff whenever we tell them there is an issue, as if it's not virgin's fault.
Is it likely it's the box that;'s faulty? i get inconsistent speeds on my laptop too however these are a lot better than the ps4.

Like every other thread on connection issues can you post your power levels (also, it may be necessary to try and connect via a wired connection to troubleshoot any issues so dont jump down anyone's throat if they ask you to try it)
To get them, this is what another had written in one of those other connection issue threads.
(If you go to http://192.168.0.1/ (or http://192.168.100.1/ if you are in modem mode) to get the VM hub GUI. Don't login (unless you have a Hub 3 and this is your first visit to the hub GUI, which does require you to login) but instead click on Router Status which is either a button in the top right of the screen or a text link at the bottom of the screen depending on which hub you have. Click on the Downstream, Upstream and Network Log sections and copy & paste the figures from those screens and post them here, don't worry about the formatting or you can post screenshots if that is easier. If you use screenshots, be careful to edit out or obscure any reference to your WAN IP or MAC address in the log to protect your privacy.)
