The Power levels themselves look sweet.

BUT

The Post RS errors and the BQQM are telling a different story.

We're still seeing bursts of packet loss on the BQQM and those post RS errors are fare higher than they should be - However the acid test is are they still climbing?

@Rachael_F Can you take another look?

Also we're still seeing RCS (Received Channel Set) Partial Service Messages, which means that for some reason, the hubs not locking on to all the downstream channels it should be at times.  As well as loss of Sync

Sync Messages are transmitted from the CMTS at regular intervals and along with MDD messages are used to keep the DOCSIS connection in order.  So repeated loss of Sync Messages should be a red flag.

Wifi extenders won't help when the problem is with the actual modem's connection to the internet though, and bear in mind that if you are talking about a wifi repeater then these actually slow the wifi connection down by about half due to the way wifi itself works.

However that subject is best continued in another thread rather than here.  It's a worthy suggestion in some circumstances, just not in this case.

Hi vikei48,

 

There was an SNR fault in your area that was fixed on 17/04/19. I've had a look at the network side of things and there is nothing there that would explain the issues that you've been experiencing.

We can see however that you've had a fair few T3 errors over the past few days so we'd like to arrange an engineer appointment for you so they can take another look at the connection at your end.

I'm going to drop you a quick PM so we can discuss details to arrange a date.

Hello all,

This time the engineer took a look at everything. He ended up changing the attenuator on the Hub, which restored the upstream power levels to green. I haven't experienced intermittent connect since the visit.

The large number of uncorrected RS errors shows that there is noise getting into your broadband feed.  In other words the SNR fault has not been fixed as far as your connection is concerned.

This could well explain your problem and is something that still needs to be fixed.  Perhaps Tom_S can pick this up?

That's unless they're now historical and not raising any longer.  Certainly looking at his post - the last SYNC error was shown as 08:12 yesterday.

After the new Hub was installed, I still experienced random short losses of service. After the second engineer visit and the attenuator change, they haven't returned. I didn't have time to play anything online to compare the ping since the last visit.

Just make two posts of your RS values - as before 1 now and one in 30 mins.  If the Post RS values are identical then you can ignore them.
