High latency variation

I have been getting ping spikes up to 200ms quite frequently over the past year and my base ping has been higher than normal too. However, these problems have become much worse over the past month, to the point where I can't even play games with my mates after work, because it has got so consistently terrible. This is definitely a problem at my end, not the games I am playing, as it occurs in every online game I play. I feel like I've reached the limit of what I can do at my end and multiple calls with customer support was no help, so I'm here. I'm not too techy, so I'll just dump the info that I've seen other people dumping in their forum posts - because I assume it's relevant. Cheers.

Thanks, Sean.

Been unable to play anything at all today, ping constantly hitting 200+. It's bad throughout the day, but it gets noticeably worse at peak times. Constantly oscillating between 60 and 200 ping on Overwatch. Everyone is teleporting and I have a "(!)" next to my name in Rocket League. No one else in the house using the internet (not that it should matter with a 200Mb line), no downloads running. Really need some help here.

Here are updated ping tests.

Hi Itsjustseann,

Thanks for your post and welcome to our community.

Really sorry you've been having some issues and for the delay in getting back in touch, we have been busier than usual.

I've tried to have a look into the issues you're having but I've been unable to locate your account to do so, therefore if you're still having these issues then please pop me a message with your full address on and I can run some checks from here.

Thanks for sending me your details.

I've had a look and everything is looking fine from here since you last rebooted the hub.

Can you just advise if you have any games consoles and how they are connected?

Emma_C - Forum Team

I have an Xbox One and a Nintendo Switch on 5Ghz wifi. But the issue is on all devices, including my PC which is what I primary use for gaming and is connected via an ethernet cable.

Thanks, Sean.

Thanks for that.

Would you be able to test the wired connection for me by disconnecting everything else for me and see how it performs?

Emma_C - Forum Team

Hi Emma,

Just tried this and it made no difference.

Thanks, Sean.

The last time you posted HUB data one of your upstream channels was out of spec, meaning you could have a noisy line:
