Re: Gloucest (05 Area) Guess what's back? Back again?

Mine was dodgy last night again too. Only recently switched after being with BT for around 8 years without an issue. Will be switching back for sure.

I've had more trouble in 2 months than I had in 8 years.

I pay for 350 and only get 90 too so not even getting the speeds I'm paying for .

If you're using a wired connection then 90Mb is a common limit when your network card (or ethernet cable) only supports 100Mb. If WiFi make sure you're connected to 5Ghz.

Re: Gloucest (05 Area) Guess what's back? Back again?

Fully agree but I have wired my home with cat 6 cable and am using gigabit networking equipment.

The first 4 days ran at full 350mb speeds (380 in fact)

Since then I've been stuck at 90. Numerous calls have proved useless. Apparently everything looks ok from their end.

Re: Gloucest (05 Area) Guess what's back? Back again?

If Virgin wasn't practically the monopoly in regards to Speed where I am, I'd be inclined to switch. This is just becoming a 1-2 day a week thing now as opposed to every couple of months, it's clearly an infrastructure problem. It's affecting Gaming significantly and streaming to the extent where it's annoying.

If someone would actually acknowledge the problem and give an estimated fix date then I wouldn't feel like I'm in a hopeless position.

Virgin offers 200mbps which I consistently get, and the next best is Sky's 0.4mbps, which we had for 7 years. The speed is great and all for downloading games, but can I play them when I want? Nope.

By the way, can someone explain why ThinkBroadbands charts do this every couple of days, then continues to monitor as usual?
