Getting random packet loss

Hey, I have been ringing up virginmedia now for around 4 weeks and been having the same problem, i figured out it was packet loss, I currently play CSGO and when in game it will randomly freeze for around 10-15secs and then unfreeze and my ping spike to 200+, i like to play competitive so when this happens you know its frustrating and they always say they will clean my line but then happens again a few hours later, I did have the old 2.0 box but they came out and installed 3.0 hub and still the same problem on both boxes.

I just dont know what to do anymore but hopefully get some help from you guys.

Re: Getting random packet loss

Hi Andy470,

Welcome to the community and thanks for posting.

Sorry to read you are experiencing packet loss.

Looking at your connection, the line and hub have come back as fine.

Are you gaming through a wired or wireless device? If wireless, can you try through wired please?

Does this only happen on CS:GO?

Can you post your ping test results and trace routes please?

Thanks

Sam

Re: Getting random packet loss

Hey,

Thanks for getting back to me

I play through wired connection but its not just me that has the same problem its the whole hub as it affects all the connections on the line such as mobile phone, laptop and my PC, The problems seems to be at any random time i get this packet loss and its that big the whole internet will timeout for around 15-20secs so if you about to look on a website when it happens it will no load again till the packet loss has gone, and i like to watch twitch.tv so when watching it will be fine then randomly get a buffer sign and yea the internet then again times out for 10-15secs, CSGO is the only game i play ATM but its the whole internet not my games that are the problem.

Re: Getting random packet loss

Look at the state of that, and too think i pay nearly £40 a month for this connection, its becoming a joke.

Re: Getting random packet loss

Something change between you posting your status on ‎06-10-2018 to ‎08-10-2018 as your power levers have past -15 dBmV and your SNR have dropped.

Re: Getting random packet loss

Downstream power levels are way too high. SNR has gone to pot.

Give them a call, the forum staff will take a look but it can take them up to a week to reply.

Your BQM shows your IP address, post it again with it obscured.
