FFXIV 90002 Error

Dominion
Tuning in

There are 3 members of the family trying to play this game in LE10 post code and another in B1 post code, and we often get disconnected at the same time, but it can also be random, affecting one or more but not all. This is the ONLY game we have issues with. My son in Birmingham is also on VM.

The cable network has been awesome over the 20 years we have been using it with only one previous issue that did take several months to fix, ultimately it was a software patch to the modem that fixed it.

We are getting several disconnections a night, EVERY night.

A quick search of the forums does not give me any hope you can fix this, this seems to have been going on for years.

I really don't want to switch to BT as they annoyed me so much 20 years ago i swore i'd never go back.

Hi.

Usually good but did lose connection earlier today for a while, couldn't say exactly how long as I stepped away from the computer after several mins, and it was OK when I got back 20 mins later. Still getting disconnections from the game, 5 or 6 times last night. I will be trying new network cables later tonight, I don't believe they will fix it, but fingers crossed.

Edit.

BQM Shows the drop.

Hi @Dominion,

Thank you for the response on this, and for providing the BQM to show the drop.

I can see that you've mentioned trying some new cables this evening. Please do let us know either way if they help at all and we can proceed from there.

Thanks,

New cables didn't make any difference. We still got booted out of the game 5 or 6 times tonight.

Do you experience any disconnections on any other games or from other games manufacturers?

Looking into the hub, all appears to be well and within spec.

Kindest regards,

No, this is the only game that I have trouble with.

I know that makes it look like its not Virgins problem, and it might not be... but I also have Square Enix telling me its not their end either, and I have been through all their customer support checks with them. I also see guild mates on other ISP's not having issues, and I see my son who lives 30 miles away in Birmingham and who is also on Virgin having the same issue.

They route your data through multiple paths to ensure dropped packets on one route are delivered through one of the others. There is a 3 day free trial you can sign up for. I will give this a try over the weekend.

Thanks for coming back to us @Dominion

Do please let us know how you get along with the free trial and we will advise further where possible

one i don't get this problem and i am on near the same server as you i am on EU server but not the same home server can it be home server problem and not there data centre try and get them to look into your home server connection that can be messing some people connection i did do this with them before and they will fix it.

if it was your side it will light up on your router on dc keep a eye on next dc if it lights up take photos and post them here

@Dominion
I play on Ragnarok, no issues here.. HOWEVER,
I do purely play with Exit Lag on. - less GCD clipping, etc.

Hopefully if I get some time I can try without it.
If you do however feel like you need to try it out, Frankfurt2 server seems fairly stable.

Although I see a few EU people posting in this thread:
https://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/threads/418930-If-you-are-having-90002-90001-Disconnects-please-...
It seems more NA based. (a LOT of Spectrum ISP users, to be precise.)
Also, I severely doubt there's any real issue on SE's side though, or there would be more major posts.

Edit: Asked a few friends on VM (Stoke-on-trent and Southampton) they all seem to be fine too without any form of VPN.

dc's on one server can be problem with SE side i don't think its Dominion's connection at all if his router is white light and don't get any other lights i don't think Exit Lag on will make a diffance or not i would report a issue with the game with 90002 error and puit down the server you on and they will look into any problems with the server or can it be a server which is over loaded with people. I did have this problem when i was on a usa server since i moved to server EU (Chaos) Cerberus i don't have 90002 errrors

ps i don't use any VPN
