If there is nothing that can be done then it is fine i will move to BT. Just presumed that with virgin offering the best mbps rating they would back it up with half decent latency. just seems like they are only bothered about download speeds. Its just weird....

Baseline latency with VM will almost certainly be higher, but should only be by 5 or 10 ms. Have you setup a BQM to check latency on your connection in case there are other issues

The asus dsl models are not meant for cable modem but it might be able to use one of its LAN ports for EWAN.
