trying to reinstall my email account on MacBook - says unable to verify

I've been unable to send emails from my MacBook so I removed my ntlworld account and am now trying to reinstall. I am repeatedly getting the message 'unable to verify the account'. Any suggestions?

Try this as you use an apple product:

If the advice in that post does not help, then you will have to use webmail until the VM system is fixed.  The Forum Team have acknowledged a problem, but no ideas yet when it will be fixed. https://mail2.virginmedia.com
