email problem

In server settings it says my secondary email account is offline, there seems no way to restore it. Why is the password optional in server settings of that email account?

Can you help please?

Would it come as any surprise to you if I were to say that you are obviously talking about some piece of e-mail management software but I have no idea which one, on what device you are using it or what the problem may actually be? Remember we cannot know or see what you know or see. 

I'm sure this is not in Virgin Media web mail. An Apple device perhaps?

The conclusion is obvious - more detail please and some screen shots if you can manage them. But absolutely no personal information either in your text or images where it should be obscured. Then we can help.

The mentions here would suggest that we're talking about an Apple device - could you confirm:

1) If this is the case and which one.
2) Secondary servers normally sounds like Outgoing SMTP servers. - With some email accounts password authentication is not needed when sending (hence the settings reading password optional).  However Virgin Media's current email settings all require a password.
