Re: Webmail login 22/11/2018

Hi Jen,

sorry but I can't help you with that, because as you know, the links that I posted only redirect to the outdated email login addresses when the email service is down (so I can not take a screenshot now, I did check to see if I had saved one but sadly I didn't) if the email service goes down again and you have not updated the email links I will try to remember take a screenshot and post it here.

Maybe you could just check the maintenance schedule for the email service and click on the links that I posted when the next scheduled work date comes up.

Either that or you will have to knock the email service offline (for maintenance should do it) for a minute to see the redirect webpage, or wait until the service is down again to be able to view the old email addresses that are listed on the redirect page.

As I said they have been outdated for years now & they really need updating.

This is one of them: https://mail.ntlworld.com/ that is listed on the redirect page that comes up when the email service is down, it just leads to a dead webpage, maybe you could search the system database for it and begin to track down all of the other outdated e mail address links.

Thanks.

Regards from

I did post this earlier, I even edited it twice, but after a while the post disappeared, maybe cancelling an edit deletes the post? I don't know, but anyway here it is again, hopefully it will stay up this time.

Re: Webmail login 22/11/2018

Hi Colonel-Mustard,

That's interesting. Sadly the webmail access issues referred to in the original post on here was related to an unplanned fault rather than maintenance. But I understand what you're saying.

If the redirects do require some amendment I'd like to see screenshots and the redirect URL please, if possible. Then I'll get this flagged up to Liberty Global.

Many thanks 🙂

@Colonel-Mustard wrote:

The link is not in this thread I simply went to https://www.virginmedia.com/

then I clicked on Email at the top right of the webpage which leads to https://my.virginmedia.com/my-apps/email/mailbox

@once on that webpage it gives the broken @ntlworld address link: If your email address ends in @ntlworld.com click here

@there are four different links to click on (depending on what your email address ends in) and the only link that actually works is: If your email address ends in @VirginMedia.com

"That's great, but it's the 28/11/18 today and it's broken again (by maintenance) otherwise I wouldn't have replied to this thread and when it breaks again unless you or someone else informs virginmedia about it then the same old non working links that they've been posting on that webpage for years will go up again."

I have just followed the links that you gave in your earlier post, as above, and they take me to the normal VM webmail sign in screen. I also have an Ntlworld email address and I can sign in fine straight from that page.

Have you tried a different browser? Alternatively you could try clearing your browser history and cookies. You could be picking up an old version of the page from your browser's cache.

I must admit that I always use the link  https://www.virginmedia.com/email to sign into webmail. It works for me but I'm happy to be told by the forum team or a superuser that I should be using a different one.Smiley Embarassed

Edited to add that my post seems to have crossed with the two latest ones so may not be appropriate but I would still say it's worth clearing the cache to ensure that you always pick up the latest version of the page.

Re: Webmail login 22/11/2018

Hi Jen,

I already posted all of the URL's that I followed but as I said they all work now because the fault is fixed, so there is nothing else that I can do until it goes down again, in which case I could save the webpage and post a screenshot for you.

Re: Webmail login 22/11/2018

Hi Coenoby,

yes all of the links now work fine since the fault has been fixed, but I have also saved the updated link to use for the ntlworld login for when the main login link goes down that Graham_A kindly posted earlier that worked for me when the main link was offline.

Thanks all the same

Actually, since my last post I have heard from someone else who has seen that page with the links to the 4 domains when the site is down for maintenance.

Hopefully he will post here if he gets a screen shot of it, but if not I will post on his behalf.

Re: Webmail login 22/11/2018

I think this may be the page that Colonel-Mustard is refering to:

https://www.virginmedia.com/holding/holding-page.html

It is a holding page which pops up when there is a service outage. As previously mentioned, the virginmedia link works but the other three domains do not.

https://mail.virginmedia.com
https://mail.ntlworld.com
https://mail.blueyonder.co.uk
https://mail.virgin.net
