Hello

All I can do is delete secondary email accounts. Why has this changed?? I need to edit my daughters email account as she cannot remember her password. As the main account holder I used to be able to do this

For reasons best know to themselves VM have changed the way you reset secondary accounts. They have now given secondary account holders the ability to change the password rather than having to rely on the primary account holder to do it.

The process now is to sign in from this link https://my.virginmedia.com/home/signIn  using the secondary email address and its existing password.  That will take you to the relevant "My Virgin Media" account for that email address.

Then navigate to the "Account details" page by clicking on the "Update settings" tab and then you'll see the "Account details" tab. Scroll down that page and you will see a place to edit the password.

However, if as in your case you do not know the existing password you can try the "Forgotten password" route from here https://www.virginmedia.com/my-virgin-media/forgotten-details/password  Sadly that may not work for you either because that secondary email account may have no "Password recovery" question set. If that is the case the screen will not respond when you enter the security answer from your primary account.

Once you have regained access to the secondary account you should set up a "Password recovery" question and answer for that secondary account. You can do that by following the steps I gave above to change the password for the secondary account. You will see  on the Account details page that there is also an option to set the "Password recovery" question for that secondary account.

I suspect that you will need to get VM staff to reset the password. You can either use the 150 phone line or wait for one of the VM Forum Team (VM employees who support this forum). One of them will contact you via this thread and take your details by Private Message.

Sorry not to be more helpful but I can only offer the advice above.

Hi Howard21, thanks for posting and welcome to our community.

I am sorry to hear you're having issues changing your secondary email address password, or passwords.  I would like to take a closer look on your behalf.  I am going to send you a private message. Please loo out for the purple envelope in the top right of your screen.

Regards
