Virgin email not working - Sorry, your mailbox is unavailable at the moment.

Hi, my Dad repeatedly has problems accessing his Virgin email account. He gets this message:

Sorry!

Your mailbox is not available at the moment

He can't sign up to this forum because at the moment he's unable to verify his email address.

Can someone help please?

It's driving me round the bend. Also could have anything to do with cookie settings in the browser?

A good thought, but no that's not the reason for it.

It's because your Dad's email account keeps getting locked by Virgin Media's "spam and abuse" system, basically they have detected suspicious activity by a third party.

Here is their advice on that https://community.virginmedia.com/t5/Email/Email-accounts-locked-mailbox-unable-unable-to-access-ema... 

Make sure you follow their advice about running a full virus check on all the devices your Dad uses to access his emails.😉
