Unable to send/receive emails

OK looks like I'm not the only one with problems.

I have an NTLworld e-mail address, had it years - no problems until recently.

Long time user of Mozilla Thunderbird.

Firstly started getting a message when trying to SEND e-mails, 'please enter pass word' nothing worked.

Quick search found the advice on Virgin media to change password.

Great result NOT

Now NOTHING works, can't send or receive or send e-mails, can't even log into My Virgin Media account any more.

Even had to use a secondary, little or never used account to get the confirmation e-mail to register on here.

PLEASE somebody tell us something
