I have been having issues sending emails from my virginmedia and NTL world email accounts for the last 3 months from my iPhone.
contacted support they unlocked my accounts advised to remove and re-add, worked for about 2 days then failed again.
I have updated phone iOS, checked port settings and entered according to virginmedia help files but still get the same error saying incorrect username or password.
I have today changed all my passwords for every mailbox I have and this makes no difference either.
I have no issues logging in and using via webmail or MS outlook.
any ideas or suggestions on how to resolve this please as it is really frustrating now and causing so much inconvenience?

Error was unable to send incorrect username or password.
on testing again just now all mailboxes are fully functioning again 🤷♀️
This issue is something that has been happening intermittently since last October. It fails for weeks and I try fixing, still doesn’t work. Then a couple of days later it works for a week and then fails again

Guess what? Yes it’s happening again! There must be something wrong with virgins Mail servers for this yo kept happening and to lots of other people too.
colleagues at work are having the same intermittent issues too.

To allow us to check what's going on here, are you having the same issues when trying to send mail directly through webmail?

no issues at all with webmail or outlook client.
only seems to be in my iPhone, the one device I use it on all the time.

Can you attempt to remove your email address from IOS mail & re add it.
