My mother recently purchased an Amazon fire and I have been trying to add her ntlworld email address to the app. Whenever I do this, I receive the following message:

I have tried this multiple times and the password is definitely not incorrect, as I have it saved in a password manager and can successfully log into the account via the Virgin Media website. I spoke to an adviser over the phone too but they were unable to offer any useful assistance.

You now need an app generated password to use with third party email apps.  The webmail password will not work.

VM have recently changed the log in requirements for accessing VM Mail via third party apps.

Email client access now requires an app specific password which can be generated in the MyVM > Account Settings > Account details > Mailbox App password management

Thanks...that sorted it. Pity the Virgin Media adviser couldn't have told me this.
