Spam - VM's filter is useless!

I'm so sick & tired of VM's utterly useless Spam filter! VM is happy to allow any messages about Viagra, Bitcoin scams, phishing attacks through, but blocks many real e-mails! I've had 20 scam e-mails in the last 3 days trying to get me to renew Norton anti-virus (which I don't have). I mark them as Spam each time, but the system never learns!

As I said the system also blocks proper e-mails sometimes - e-mails from a Dutch company I deal with are always blocked, no matter how many times I mark them as not Spam. I even had an individual e-mail from a UK company acknowledging an order classed as spam.

Its useless, and its always been useless, and it never gets better! I wouldn't mind if the system ever learnt - isn't that what modern sophisticated systems are supposed to do???

AH me too now.... perhaps when the list grows something might get done.

Virgin media dont give a crap about this issue unfortunately, have reported it loads , totally in denial that it is in anyway a fraud issue or that they have any responsibility towards their paying customers.
but yes if everyone complained perhaps they would take more notice ..... not holding my breath tho !

With brilliant irony, my actual Virus Protection software co are now sending me e-mails saying I need to renew my subscription to them, even though I already have and its working and they have confirmed over the phone that the licence is fine!!! Unless this one is spam as well......

Virgin Media should be considered as a “not caring” company.

How many senior citizens (who might not be able to identify SPAM or know what SPAM is and in error give their account details) will be ripped off, just because Virgin cannot be bothered?

Shame on you Virgin Media.

I gotta agree with all the other comments about this.

I am getting sick fed up to the back teeth of emails telling me I'm infected, or my subscription to Norton (Or McAfee) has expired.

Realistically it's bordering on harassment.

You delete the message from your client (or let a rule do it) - Log into webmail and mark it as Spam, for Virgin to do what?  Hee & Haw it appears.  With my work's Exchange server, as soon as 5 people have marked an email as spam the address is blocked and all copies of the mails removed from Exchange.

We never had Spam to the levels we do now, when Google provided the service.

These are the spam emails I have had today - none of them went into the spam folder - all into my inbox.

Please get onto this VM - is anyone there from the company?

Yeah - I got exactly the same. And I'm sure hundreds/ thousands of others did as well.

And its still blocks perfectly valid e-mails!

These Norton & McAfee spam emails are driving us mad. Me & my husband  are getting dozens & dozens a day. It's just getting ridiculous now. When is Virgin Media going to do something about this. We're both pensioners & although I am not a total technophobe it does sometimes panic us into thinking how easy scammers could trick us.

Come on Virgin sort it.!!

I actually got one that got put into the Spam filter today!!! Around 10 more that didn't of course...

It is seriously aggravating, as is VM's lack of response.

Anyone here from Virgin Media that can help with this matter?
