Setting up a new laptop

Just joined

Set up for SMTP on 465 with SSL and authentication enabled but cannot send emails.  Have tried old settings (25 without SSL and authentication) without luck.  Any suggestions?

If you are still having problems after checking the settings it would be useful to know what error message your email app or client is returning when you try to send email.

As an aside, you only mention a problem sending emails so is it safe to assume that your app is receiving emails or is there an issue there as well?

Also, it would be worth signing in to your VM webmail account to make sure that your VM email account itself has a problem. While you are there you could also check whether you can send an email from there.(I would expect so but it would be worth checking) You can do that via this link https://mail2.virginmedia.com/
